waiting for van gogh

recently, i had the pleasure of doing an article on the van gogh museum called virtual starry night. cool as it is to see lots of beautiful paintings by van gogh, it’s their 3d-rendition of eight of his paintings that makes this a true second life experience. you can actually walk into these paintings, like “the night café” (seen above), “the bedroom” and “bridge in the rain”. it’s exactly the kind of thing that sl was made for: achieveing something that isn’t possible in first life. i can deeply recommend a visit.

if you want, you can also read my interview with the museum’s concept director.
